As an advisor to COOKE, LLC, Steve brings over 40 years of financial, operational, and governmental experience and insights that benefit the operations of the firm and its portfolio companies. Steve also serves as the Chief Investment Strategist for Keel Point Senior Wealth Advisors, where he develops client portfolios and investment strategies to work towards meeting their life, family, wealth, and investment goals.
Steve’s professional experience also includes 24 years at G. William Miller & Company, a Washington, D.C.-based private merchant-banking firm, advising US and international individual, institutional and government clients with liquid portfolios of $50 million to $5 billion. His investment responsibilities ranged from marketable securities to real estate to operating company turnarounds.
For the 15 years prior, he served on the White House National Security Council Staff and economic policy team and at the U.S. Treasury working on national security, intelligence, management, policy development and regulation of banking, tax, and law enforcement. Steve is the co-author of two books on business competitiveness and is an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University where he teaches graduate courses in international finance and trade.
Steve remains active in several domestic and international public service organizations, including The Falls Church Fellows, the National Fellows Initiative, University of Virginia Families Executive Committee, George Washington University International Council, Birthmother Ministries, Center for Christian Studies, and American Near East Refugee Aid.
